Castlevania: Curse of Darkness Review
Story: 7/10
It's alright and all, but I was really dissapointed. This was supposed to continue off of Castlevania 3, and yet no Grant DaNasty, no Sypha Belnades, and not even Alucard. Seems to me like this whole game was just thrown together to give Trevor an excuse to kick some ass. But hey, the story is still decent, though it suffers from the Castlevania curse of having a major lack of dialouge. But honestly, it could have been so much better if Trevor's companions had some place...
Sound/Music: 8/10
I like the music, but again, the designers missed a PERFECT opportunity to remix some music from CV3. Another point gets deducted for the voice acting being meh at times, but even at it's worst it's tolerable.
Gameplay: 9/10
Second Castlevania to be in 3D, and is better than LoI in some ways. First being you can level up again. The second being you can equip a lot of weapons, a feature that made Symphony, Aria, and Dawn of Sorrow all great. The third being the ID system. Really well designed. though once you get the battle ID it seems really easy...but I don't have any huge problems with the gameplay.
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics are seriously beautiful. I swear, it looks like a PS3 game almost. I just love that save room effect...So many great things to say about the graphics, I can't even list half of them. :P
Replay: N/A
Haven't beaten it yet, but playing as Trevor again should be cool.
Overall: 9/10
Great Action RPG, certainly beats the pants off of Dirge of Cerebus.
