Castlevania: Lament of Innocence
First thought: <3
First off I must say that this game is beautiful to look at, the opening movie, absolute greatness, all of the backgrounds, ground-breaking. Even the in-game characters and enemies are a wonder to look at (and obliterate).
The music in the game is just about like any other Castlevania game, which sounds good. though, a lot of the music sounds the same in many places. Overall, the music is something to be respected. Never forget to mention boss music and scene music, the sound grand aswell.
Sound effects, also, are fun to hear, the sound of the whip smacking against an enemy, ah, the good times we've had. Even as you are running around, you can clearly hear Leon's footsteps, whether they're on the tiles, ice, dirt or path, it all just sounds right.
Gameplay, something very important to a game, expectedly this game has very good gameplay, as the other Castlevania games before it have. Even after you beat the game, there is replay value, I will not tell this, just incase you haven't played and want to.
The battles in this game are second-to-none, you just run around and beat the crud out of anything you see, as they do the same to you. The weapons, though, are quite limited, you get only whips, and the most you can have are four, but the other three are secret, and you have to beat a an "elemental" which is an optional boss, before you get it. (This goes for all three extra whips).
SPOILERS
In this game, the story is, just so good you can't put it in words. (though I will try). You start off running to a castle, Walter's castle, to get your betrothed back. Walter stole her to start a "game" and to get her back he must defeat these bosses to get orbs, which light up these other orbs at the start of the castle, and when all of the orbs are obtained, the door to Walter is unlocked, and there Leon gets Sara back, but it's not over, no, not yet. You find that he has turned her into a vampire and the only way to untaint her, is to kill Walter immediately, but theres a problem, your whips aren't affective against him. So after some movies, you must kill Sara, to make the whip "complete." After you complete it, you can now go fight Walter. After going through the last area, and arive at the throne, you fight Walter.
After you have Walter dead, you think you have the game beat right, nope, not yet. Now after another movie you have to fight Death, without the ability to go and save, after you beat him, you beat the game.
(I think I went too far with that part)
I recommend this game to anyone, this game is great.
